Join Aprio and the Aprio Foundation in Assisting with Hurricane Michael Relief Efforts

October 15, 2018

HOME.  It’s a place where we feel safe.  Loved.  Ourselves, the “real” us.  Where we’re connected to our families, neighbors and possibly the larger community.

Daylight last Thursday brought home the terrible truth for many fellow Georgians and those in the Florida Panhandle.  There is no more home.  You’ve seen the news and photos of complete devastation across hundreds of miles.  Homes destroyed or just plain gone.  Businesses smashed.  Farms’ crops destroyed –years of labor, saving, hard work, sweat equity – now for nothing.  Everything wiped out.  Where does one even start with no power, no running water, no sewer system, nothing left except maybe the clothes on your back…when you’re just lucky to be alive.

You probably know someone here who has family missing or who rode it out and survived.  Many Atlantans have for decades traveled to the beach and have favorite vacation spots or worked for years to save for a vacation home.  These places are special to us both for the people and the memories of vacations and family celebrations.

And now – they need us.  Aprio and the Aprio Foundation is leading efforts to bring hope to those so desperately in need.

Here is where you come in.  If you would like to make a monetary contribution for us to purchase building supplies for those most in need in apartments, mobile homes, and/or houses in the impacted areas, you can donate online or donate by check. Please make your check out to the Aprio Foundation and put “Michael relief” on the subject line.  Send these to Melisa Beauchamp, 5 Concourse Parkway, Suite 1000, Atlanta, GA 30328, who will see that these funds are allocated directly to disaster relief. All donations to The Aprio Foundation are tax deductible.

If you would like to donate supplies, this is what is most needed:

  • Cases of water
  • Wipes and hand sanitizer
  • Diapers
  • Canned food, especially peanut butter (for protein)
  • Household cleaning supplies – mops, brooms, garbage bags (all sizes), Lysol, etc.etc.
  • Paper plates, towels, plastic utensils
  • Tarps (large enough to cover roofs)
  • Gift cards of any kind, but mainly Home Depot/Lowe’s

We are NOT loading clothing or furniture at this point.  Please bring donations to Aprio at 5 Concourse Parkway, Ste 1000, Atlanta, GA 30328.  All supplies donated will be delivered to partner charities in the hardest hit areas who will help distribute the supplies to those who are in need.

Thank you in advance for whatever you can give!
