FAR Recognizes Aprio’s Kathy O’Connor as Resource Member of the Year

September 7, 2026Kathy O’Connor, Nonprofit & Education Consulting Leader and Client Accounting & Advisory Services Partner, is named the 2026 Resource Member of the Year by FAR (formerly the Finance & Administration Roundtable), the Washington, D.C. area’s premier association dedicated to nonprofit business leaders.

FAR has served nonprofit and association professionals for more than 40 years, providing opportunities for professional development, networking and knowledge sharing among leaders throughout the nonprofit sector.

The Resource Member of the Year award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the nonprofit community through leadership, education, and service. Kathy has dedicated more than 30 years to assisting nonprofit organizations strengthen their financial operations, governance, and long-term sustainability.

Aprio acquired O’Connor Consulting Services, LLC (OCS) in June 2025, bringing Kathy and her team of four partners and 25 professionals to the firm. She founded OCS in 1999 and led it for more than 25 years. Under her leadership, OCS built a strong reputation across the Washington, D.C., nonprofit community for interim CFO and controller support, finance department assessments, strategic planning, audit facilitation, and grant advisory services, helping mission-driven organizations strengthen their financial operations without pulling focus from their programs.

At Aprio, Kathy has aided in expanding the firm’s nonprofit consulting capabilities, building a career devoted to serving nonprofit organizations. Within her community, Kathy works closely with nonprofit executives and boards, providing strategic guidance that enables organizations to advance their missions and maximize their impact.

The award will be presented during FAR’s Second Annual FAR Awards Program and Annual Meeting on September 16, 2026, in Washington, D.C.
