Overview
Alex is a Manager in Aprio’s Nonprofit Assurance* practice with eight years of public accounting experience serving nonprofit organizations, for-profit companies, and employee benefit plans. He specializes in financial statement audits performed in accordance with U.S. GAAP and works closely with executive leadership and finance teams to support accurate reporting and strong internal processes. Alex is known for his collaborative approach, clear communication, and commitment to delivering high-quality, timely audits.
Experience
Alex leads all phases of audit engagements, including planning, risk assessment, supervision of staff, technical review, and communication with management and audit committees. His nonprofit experience includes organizations with diverse revenue streams such as contributions, grants, membership revenue, and program service revenue, as well as functional expense allocations, lease accounting, and investment reporting. Prior to focusing on nonprofit clients, Alex served manufacturing, distribution, SaaS, and service organizations, providing him with a broad technical foundation and practical perspective that enhances his work with mission-driven entities.
Education & Affiliations
Alex earned both his Master’s and Bachelor’s Degrees in Accountancy from California State University, San Bernardino. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
