Overview
Brian has more than 20 years of experience providing technical accounting solutions and guidance. His background includes more than 10 years of federal government contract compliance work (including FAR, CAS, DCAA support, incurred cost submissions, and indirect rate budgeting) and 10 years of internal industry accounting and finance experience.
Experience
Brian works with federal government contractors in almost every industry, providing outsourced accounting services for clients that range from pre-revenue to $50 million and consulting clients with revenue of more than $200 million. As a department leader, Brian’s first goal is to ensure that his team is happy, informed, and prepared to meet clients’ needs. This team-oriented approach, combined with decades of leadership and industry experience, allow Brian to create a stronger client experience and foster trusted relationships.
Results I have delivered
While working with many different clients I have helped save and recover time and significant dollars related to Incurred Cost Audits and other DCAA matters, terminations, bid protests, and litigation support matters. On the internal side, I have worked to assist small businesses gain invaluable insight into their businesses via accounting system optimizations, chart of account and indirect rate assessments, budgets, and future-looking pipeline calculations.
Unique things about me
When I was little and homesick at football camp I got to room with Hall of Fame Wide Receiver Art Monk. I also ran the Marine Corps Marathon in October 2022.
When I am not at work
I have coached each of my four kids’ sports teams, including soccer, football and baseball. I enjoy playing golf and working out at Orangetheory. I have always loved traveling and am thankful to have been able to visit many places around the world; I’m looking forward to continuing to fill my page-expanded passport.

Education & Affiliations
Brian earned a Bachelor of Science with honors in Accounting from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a Certificate in Project Management from the University of Virginia. He is a licensed certified public accountant (CPA) in the state of Maryland and a member of the Northern Chapter of VSCPA and the University of Maryland Smith School of Business Accounting Advisory Council. Brian is a proficient speaker and has given presentations at several industry events, including the Unanet Conference and the Veterans Institute for Procurement.
