With more than 20 years of professional experience, Elisa provides high-quality assurance services to the public, private and nonprofit sectors with a particular focus on the technology industry. In the past three and a half years, Elisa also has been focused on serving the government contracting industry.
Experience
Elisa offers an extraordinary depth of technical knowledge to her clients, including the proper application of new accounting standards, financial reporting best practices and other technical accounting matters. She regularly advises her clients on a range of complex business challenges, such as business combinations and consolidations; cash flow management; foreign currency; goodwill and intangible asset impairment; capitalization of internally and externally developed costs; and revenue recognition.
Elisa brings a strong commitment to client service and satisfaction to her work. Her professional demeanor and positive energy make a great impact on both her clients and colleagues. She actively supports the learning and development of her team members, and teaches accounting and auditing skills at the local, regional and national levels to educate the next generation of CPAs.
Education & Affiliations
Elisa earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Accountancy from University of the East and is currently working toward her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of the People. Her professional affiliations include memberships with the Virginia Society of CPAs (VSCPA), Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA), Maryland Association of CPAs (MACPA) and Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA). She has led women’s inclusion initiatives in the workplace and volunteered in the community and classroom by teaching financial literacy to students. For 2023-2024, Elisa is a committee member of the VSCPA’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Advisory Council and VSCPA’s Accounting and Auditing (A&A) Advisory Committee. She is also a mentor in MACPA’s Mentoring Program.
