Who I work with
I work with privately owned family businesses, particularly those involved in rental real estate and multifamily properties. My clients benefit from my extensive background in real estate and my experience as an auditor, CFO, and controller, which allows me to advise them holistically.
My specialty
I specialize in structuring complex scenarios such as 1031 exchanges. With over 25 years of experience in accounting, I bring a wealth of knowledge to my clients. My background includes working as a CFO of an Inc. 500 privately held company and as a Senior Manager for one of Chicago’s top 15 accounting firms. Additionally, I have experience as an investor in many real estate ventures and as an entrepreneur, which helps me understand the financial risks and challenges when structuring a new company.
Results I have delivered
I once met a logistics professional at a wine tasting event. Although he was too small to be my client at the time, we kept in touch, and I answered some questions for him over the years. Eight to nine years later, he became my client, and we were able to provide reviewed financial statements and employee benefit audits worth $100,000. This example demonstrates my commitment to long-term client relationships and the value I bring to my clients.
Unique things about me
I have had both hips replaced, which is quite unique for someone relatively young. I prefer to stay away from social media and focus on personal interactions.
When I am not at work
I enjoy weightlifting, fitness, and football. I am a big Chicago sports fan and want all the teams to win! I also love good wine and food, and I enjoy cooking. My wife and I love traveling to new places, immersing ourselves in different cultures, and attending local performances such as symphonies, operas, and ballets. I also love spending time with my two grandchildren and taking them to museums. Additionally, I am a big music lover and enjoy attending performances while traveling.

I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Loyola University, Chicago and have been a CPA since 1992. I am a member of the AICPA and Illinois CPA Society.
