Mark advises owners of family businesses as well as middle-market CEOs and CFOs on compliance requirements and technical accounting matters. He is known for his thoughtful and grounded approach to addressing both accounting and regulatory issues, consistently striving to bring the best ideas to the table.
Experience
In his practice within Aprio, Mark specializes in facilitating audits* and preparing financial reports that comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). His clients include small privately owned businesses and local governments. His background in both tax and audit allows him to tackle complicated transactions that produce better outcomes for his clients and their businesses.
Education & Affiliations
Mark earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Georgia Southern University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA), the Georgia Government Finance Officers Association, and the Azalea City Civic Club. He also serves as a board member for the Wiregrass Technical College Foundation.
Outside of his professional work, Mark has been actively involved in community service. He was a founding board member of The Miracle League of Valdosta, where he helped develop a playing field and playground designed for children of all abilities. This project remains one of the most meaningful experiences of his community involvement.
