Overview
Mike has over 25 years of experience delivering audit*, accounting, and consulting services to closely held, small- and mid-sized businesses across diverse industries. He leads audit and assurance engagements for these companies, including financial statement audits, reviews, compilations, consulting for owners on accounting, tax, and business issues, and compliance support with GAGAS (Yellow Book) and Federal Uniform Guidance.
Experience
Mike has deep experience in professional services, distribution, manufacturing, real estate, nonprofits, government, and private companies. He is respected for steering clients through complex financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, and delivering forward-thinking business advice. Before joining Isdaner & Company in 1998, Mike worked at a national accounting and consulting firm and held supervisory and senior audit roles with regional firms. Mike is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Temple University’s Fox School of Business, a trainer in firm-sponsored programs, and a lecturer on accounting and tax topics to various audiences.
Education & Affiliations
Mike earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and an MBA in Accounting and Finance from Temple University. He is a member of the AICPA and PICPA and continues to advance the profession through education and volunteer leadership, where he chaired the Young CPA Committee and served on other committees, including Community Involvement and Cooperation with the Bar.
Additionally, Mike has served on boards for the Philadelphia Boys and Girls Clubs, Lower Merion Little League, Main Line Girls Basketball, and several Home and School Associations.
