Rob Shirley, CPA

Audit Partner at Aprio | Specializing in audits for senior living facilities, franchises, nonprofits and investment funds.

Busy mature (50s) executive in action in office setting.

Who I work with

I help CFOs, controllers and owners/operators of senior living facilities, franchise operations, nonprofits and investment funds simplify the complexities of financial reporting. I also have considerable experience in the title & settlement, finance, broker-dealer, real estate and construction industries. Regardless of your accounting software, I can help you advance your financial reporting to support growth.

My specialty

I have 25+ years of combined experience with audits, reviews and compilations from both sides of the desk, as both a public accounting firm CPA and a controller. I use this experience to implement new accounting standards and improve processes and accounting system controls. My work delivers greater insight from financial reporting that I leverage to provide independent advisory for strategic planning.

Results I have delivered

We are relentless about response time. Aprio’s ongoing ability to pivot on short notice — combined with the firm’s recognized expertise in CARES Act programs like the Paycheck Protection Program, Employee Retention Credit and Provider Relief Fund — continue to support our clients. And through it all, we continue to help clients look ahead to achieve what’s next.

Unique things about me

My family and I love to camp in our RV. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Auburn University.

When I am not at work

I love to go hiking with my family and/or solo — my favorite place to hike is in the mountains. My professional affiliations include the AICPA, ASCPA and the Birmingham Venture Club.
