Troy Vigil, CPA
Tax Partner
Aprio Advisory Group, LLC
Who I work with
I work with small to medium-sized business owners, primarily in professional services, high net-worth individuals, and the real estate sector. I especially enjoy working with high net-worth individuals, but my largest client base is in real estate. I advise clients on tax planning, structuring their business, and complex tax issues.
My specialty
My non-accounting skills combined with my IRS audit background offer a broader perspective to my clients than most tax professionals.
Results I have delivered
I have helped real estate clients save hundreds of thousands of dollars in tax liability. For example, a cost segregation project on a large commercial real estate property resulted in zero tax liability for my client for that year.
Unique things about me
My first job out of school was with the IRS as an auditor. I played golf in college and continue to enjoy the sport. I also love traveling to new places with my family, and we are big foodies who always seek out the best restaurants.
When I am not at work
When I am not at work, I enjoy playing golf, traveling with my family, and hiking. We love exploring new places and finding great restaurants to try. I also enjoy walking and spending time outdoors.
People say I am
People say I am down to earth, personable, and have a lot of common sense. They appreciate my ‘very high level of client service’ and attention to detail.
Affiliations
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Niagara University. I am a member of the Colorado Society of CPAs and the National Association of Tax Practitioners. I support charities such as Silenced to Saved and There with Care, which help women and children affected by sex trafficking and families with extended hospital stays.
