Aprio Names Nicole Mitchell as First Chief Practice Officer

CPO to support strategic growth through new services and solutions for clients across firm’s expanding markets

ATLANTA/ROCKVILLE – Nationally ranked business advisory and CPA firm Aprio, LLP announced today that Nicole Mitchell is joining the top 35 firm as Chief Practice Officer in the Rockville office, effective January 1, 2023.

Mitchell joins Aprio following the firm’s announcement that Washington D.C.-based Aronson, LLC, will merge with Aprio – Aprio’s largest merger to date. Mitchell joined the firm in 1998 and currently serves as the Lead for Aronson Advisory Services. In her new role as Aprio’s first Chief Practice Officer, she will lead continued growth through organic strategy providing leadership, coordination and guidance across the firm’s burgeoning specialty services and segments, including Government Contracting, Nonprofit and Construction – prominent industries for Aronson, served by Aprio post-merger.

Mitchell brings more than 24 years of experience to the Chief Practice Officer role. Agile, with a focus on creating impact, she has taken multiple clients from start up to lucrative exit in the federal contracting space as a trusted advisor and produces value by providing end to end efficiencies.

Mitchell is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and was recognized for the ‘Women to Watch’ distinction by the Greater Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants in 2013.
