Schapiro joins Aprio as Partner after working closely with the firm as a strategic consultant, bringing his extensive payroll tax expertise to both grow the employment tax practice and lead the PERC team. With over 37 years of experience in payroll tax and a proven track record of delivering exceptional client experiences, Schapiro will deliver enhanced value and tailored solutions to clients, expanding Aprio’s capabilities in these critical areas and showcasing the firm’s commitment to expanding its service offerings and delivering comprehensive solutions to clients across various industries.

Since 2020, he has operated his own firm, specializing in U.S. federal, state, and local payroll taxation. In his new role at Aprio, Schapiro will further strengthen the firm’s position as a leading provider of payroll tax consulting and compliance services with his expertise in M&A restructuring, worker classification, CARES Act eligibility, prior period remediation, and tax controversy.
