Overview
Eric has 20 years of experience working with entities to navigate complex accounting issues and implement new accounting standards. He works with nonprofits, public housing authorities, multifamily affordable housing developers, Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) investors, commercial real estate developers, and governmental entities to provide annual audit* and attestation services.
Experience
He specializes in financial reporting/auditing, uniform guidance, multi-family HUD audits, and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) financial reporting. Eric helps organizations that receive federal funds by clarifying grant requirements and improving financial reporting and compliance. He guides them through changing federal programs, highlighting potential risks. He works closely with public housing authorities providing annual audit or audit readiness services, as well as improving reporting processes to fulfill the requirements of annual submissions to HUD’s REAC system. Additionally, Eric supports affordable housing projects from application and construction to operation and asset repositioning after 15 years.
Education & Affiliations
Eric earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Science in Accounting from Wake Forest University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (NCACPA).
