She supports her clients from initial contract award through liquidity event (and beyond) to navigate the ever-changing tax landscape and be prepared for what’s next.
Experience
With more than 17 years of experience, Melissa has a proven track record of assisting her clients through both buy and sell side M&A events including diligence, after tax cash modeling, and pre-sale readiness assessments. Her specialties include federal and state income tax compliance for business entities, buy and sell sides of M&A structuring and planning, as well as projections and cash flow management around taxes.
Melissa works with middle market government contracting and technology clients and their entrepreneurial owners, helping them achieve their goals and mitigate their tax burden. Her collaborative, client-focused approach and deep understanding of government contracting sets her apart, ensuring that each client receives personalized attention and tailored solutions to meet their unique needs.
Education & Affiliations
Melissa has Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Towson University and a Master of Science in Taxation from the Kogod School of Business at American University. She is a member of the AICPA and MACPA, where she is also a board member of the MACPA Foundation. In addition, Melissa serves on the board for Hearts and Homes for Youth, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving underprivileged and at-risk youth in the Maryland area.
