Melissa has over 25 years of experience providing professional accounting services to individuals and businesses, helping clients succeed and realize their potential. In her years practicing accounting, Melissa has learned the value of a proactive, visionary financial mentor who serves a greater purpose in clients’ lives than simply providing tax compliance. Beyond providing financial mentorship and guidance, the relationships she develops with clients are the most rewarding aspect of her job. Clients often refer to Melissa as “part of the family,” and these relationships are the driving force behind her career.
Experience
She specializes in working with closely held and family-owned companies, enabling her to focus primarily on real estate industry entities. Melissa’s primary practice areas are multifamily real estate tax strategies, partnership taxation, and opportunity zones.
She greatly appreciates the opportunity to be involved in a client’s planning for portfolio growth, whether through acquisition, construction, or remodeling. Melissa seeks to maximize allowable depreciation deductions and tax credits and to enhance the timing of those elements.
Education & Affiliations
Melissa earned a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from the University of West Florida. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Oregon Board of Accountancy Laws and Rules Committee, and the Rotary Club. She is the Episcopal Church Women Treasurer of St. Michael’s Cathedral, and she is a regular volunteer for meals for the homeless and hungry.
