Overview

Michael has 20 years of forensic accounting experience and practiced law for nine years. He primarily works with attorneys and other clients who are in litigation or otherwise looking to resolve disputes or investigate improprieties. Michael specializes in economic damages calculations, fraud investigations, forensic accounting, and business valuations. His expertise also includes performing substantive analyses of documents and data, drafting expert reports, and performing complex financial analyses. 

Experience

Michael’s legal background allows him to work closely with attorneys to support their cases through strategizing, assisting with depositions of fact and expert witnesses, and drafting discovery responses. He directed a substantial part of the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy examination as part of the largest bankruptcy in history and also investigated dozens of tax shelters, resulting in settlements and judgements totaling hundreds of millions of dollars. 

Education & Affiliations

Michael earned a J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law (where he received Order of the Coif and served on the Maryland Law Review) and graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University. He is a certified public accountant (CPA) licensed in Maryland, a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and a Certified Valuation AnalystÒ (CVAÒ).
