With more than 20 years of experience in public accounting, Nathan has a proven track record of building a practice from the ground up and scaling within the insurance industry. Nathan is passionate about helping clients achieve their strategic goals, enhancing audit quality and efficiency, and fostering a culture of inclusion and authenticity within his team and the broader firm.
Experience
At Aprio, Nathan focuses on expanding the firm’s insurance audit* practice, leveraging his extensive experience in PCAOB and AICPA standards, US GAAP, IFRS, and SAP. Prior to joining Aprio, he served as a signing partner at Crowe, managing a portfolio of over 30 audit clients. There, he led engagements that bridged communication between audit teams, executive leadership, and audit committees, contributing to approximately $2 million in new audit wins. Earlier in his career, Nathan held roles at two Big Four firms and an international accounting firm. As an Associate Partner at Ernst & Young (EY) in the Cayman Islands, he built the insurance practice from inception to over $12 million in annual revenue, $7 million of which he directly secured. He grew the team from a solo operation to 30 professionals and oversaw assurance services for more than 500 global captive insurance clients. His portfolio included audits for subsidiaries of more than 30 Fortune 100 companies.
Education & Affiliations
Nathan is a Certified Public Accountant with active licenses in Oklahoma, Texas, Hawaii, and Florida. He is also approved to perform captive insurance audits in Vermont, Nevada, Tennessee, New York, Utah, South Carolina, Arkansas, and Missouri.
Nathan holds an MBA with a Finance emphasis and a Bachelor’s in Accounting from the University of Central Oklahoma. He has been a member of the AICPA since 2008.
