Overview
Ryan Ahn is a multilingual CPA who advises Korean and Japanese multinational companies with U.S. subsidiaries generating over $20 million in revenue. Ryan works closely with CEOs, CFOs, and accounting managers across various industries including automotive, chemicals, consumer and industrial products, real estate, technology, insurance, and specialized equipment trading. His specialties include enterprise risk management, internal control audit*, international tax strategy, global tax liability control, consolidation, and U.S. GAAP and IFRS financial reporting.
Experience
Ryan is fluent in English, Japanese, and Korean, and specializes in advising both inbound and outbound international companies seeking the advisory services of a Japanese or Korean speaking CPA. He enjoys the points of interactions and communication that occur between himself and his clients on a day-to-day basis, since this process enables him to work in an advisory role with his clients to improve business efficiencies and financial reporting.
Prior to joining Aprio in 2013, Ryan worked for the Japanese practice of KPMG in Atlanta for over 10 years and was involved in a variety of projects and engagements, primarily focused upon audit and consulting engagements for U.S., European, Korean, and Japanese companies. While with KPMG, Ryan also had an international rotation with the KPMG Tokyo office, handling international engagements for several Fortune 500 companies, including Mitsubishi FUSO Bus and Truck Company, Siemens, and GE over a three-year period.
Education & Affiliations
Ryan attended Hanyang University in Seoul, South Korea. He completed his Master’s in Accounting at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
