Overview
Shazan is the Tax Director for Credits and Incentives at Aprio’s Specialty Tax department. He helps companies maximize value and reduce investment risks. At Aprio, Shazan will lead tax incentive planning, assure compliance, and develop financial strategies. As part of his responsibilities, Shazan acts as the primary negotiator with government and economic agencies. He also serves as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives, board members, and private equity sponsors, focusing on enhancing investment returns.

Education & Affiliations
Shazan has a Bachelor of Science in Finance from DePaul University and a Juris Doctor (JD) from Cooley Law School. He is a licensed attorney in Illinois and a member of the DuPage County and Cook County Bar Associations. Shazan has spoken at national conferences on economic development and tax issues and has authored articles on tax strategy and ESG programs. He mentors young people and has received awards for his educational work. Additionally, Shazan is actively involved in tax, legal, and economic development organizations.
