Sheldon Zimmerman, CPA, CGMA
Sheldon is a partner in the Non-Profit and Education group at Aprio and has over 30 years of experience in public accounting, including a career with a Big Four firm. For 12 years, he also served as Chief Financial Officer for Wolf Camera, Inc., a specialty retailer operating more than 800 stores.
Sheldon serves as engagement partner for a number of non-profits, associations and schools, including both charter schools and private schools. He has also served many public and private businesses in various industries that include retail, distribution, manufacturing, technology and service. In addition, he has served as an expert witness in various litigation matters and has assisted businesses with restructuring activities and liquidity issues. Sheldon has hands-on experience negotiating, integrating and performing due diligence procedures relating to more than 30 acquisitions along with negotiating with lenders.
Additionally, he has significant experience with strategic initiatives involving the negotiation and integration issues surrounding corporate acquisitions and dispositions, along with hands-on experience in managing the finance and treasury operation of a large corporation.
He graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting. Sheldon is currently a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Georgia. He is a member of the:
