Overview
Stacey Chamberlain (formerly Roberts) is a State and Local Tax (SALT) professional with more than 25 years of experience in public and private sector accounting. Her specialties include state income and franchise tax, sales and use tax, and strategic tax planning for flow-through entities and C corporations across diverse industries. Stacey is passionate about designing solutions that improve business tax outcomes and mitigate risk, while identifying opportunities for savings and efficiency.
Experience
Stacey works closely with clients to manage state and local income tax, as well as sales tax compliance and consulting issues. She advises on nexus determinations, taxability decisions, sourcing, apportionment, filing methods, tax planning and remediation strategies, and credits and incentives, ensuring businesses remain compliant while optimizing their tax positions. Stacey also represents clients in state and local tax controversies, working directly with auditors and taxing jurisdictions to resolve disputes. Her experience includes identifying planning opportunities, implementing business strategies and process improvements, and guiding businesses every step of the way in complex multistate tax environments.
In addition to her client work, Stacey frequently speaks, teaches, and writes about SALT topics for professional organizations, state and local tax educational platforms, and industry events, sharing insights on legislative changes, compliance strategies, practical applications of state and local tax rules, and best practices.
Education & Affiliations
Stacey earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Bradley University. She is a licensed CPA. Stacey is also a member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT) and serves as co-chair of the IPT Income Tax School, where she earned the IPT Income Tax Teacher of the Year award in 2025 for her contributions to the school.
