Thomas has over 30 years of experience advising clients in a variety of industries regarding valuation, mergers and acquisitions, aircraft tax matters, partnership taxation, accounting information systems, and advanced tax planning. He has served as a consulting professional on a variety of litigation matters in support of shareholder disputes, professional malpractice, economic damages, bankruptcy, forensic accounting, and family law cases.
Experience
In 1990, Thomas founded what became The Mangold Group, CPAs, PC (TMG) while attending The University of Texas at Austin. Under his leadership, TMG became one of Austin’s top 25 CPA firms.
At Aprio, Thomas continues to help entrepreneurs create business strategies, set exit goals, negotiate settlements, and plan for succession. He also collaborates with attorneys on partnership issues, acquisitions, and litigation strategies. Thomas’s specialties include software design, oil and gas taxes, construction, business valuation, and aviation. He is hands-on in problem-solving and is committed to his clients’ success.
Education & Affiliations
Thomas earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin. He is Accredited in Business Valuation by the AICPA from 2010 to present. Thomas is also an AICPA Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP) and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants since 2006. Thomas also has a Private Pilot License from the Federal Aviation Administration.
