Aprio Foundation Champions Community Initiatives with Impact Grants

ATLANTA – September 4, 2024 – Aprio, a leading business advisory and accounting firm, announces the recipients of the 2024 Community Impact Grants from its charitable arm, The Aprio Foundation. With a steadfast commitment to improving our communities, the foundation has granted $104,000 to 16 deserving nonprofit organizations in the most recent grant cycle. This cycle celebrates the impactful programs and missions of six new grantees, including Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities, Girls on the Run South Georgia, Grant Halliburton Foundation, PENCIL Foundation, Phoenix Pass, and Supportive Housing Communities.

Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities (Georgia) has been keeping families close when it matters most. They host thousands of families as they care for a child that is receiving treatment for illness or injury. In a time of anxious uncertainty, they offer a comfortable place to call home that is in close proximity to their child’s care facility.

Blessings in a Backpack (Georgia) mobilizes communities, individuals, and resources to provide food on the weekends for school-aged children across America who might otherwise go hungry.

Bobby Dodd Institute (Georgia) empowers people with differing abilities to maximize their potential by securing economic self-sufficiency, independence and inclusion within their communities.

Chattahoochee Nature Center’s (Georgia) mission is to connect people with nature. For almost 50 years, CNC has inspired both naturalists and citizens to build one of the most unique places on the Chattahoochee River.

City Harvest (New York) exists to end hunger in communities throughout New York City. They do this through food rescue and distribution, education, and other practical, innovative solutions.

Dunwoody Nature Center (Georgia) inspires the love of nature and cultivates environmental understanding and stewardship by conserving and enhancing Dunwoody Park, educating children, families, and adults of all ages about the natural world and our place in it, and motivating environmental awareness and responsible action.

Families Forward Charlotte (North Carolina) partners with families experiencing poverty to achieve lasting economic stability. They provide educational opportunities, offer essential support, and foster long-term relationships through individualized mentoring.

Girls on the Run South Georgia (Georgia) inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.

Giving Health (Georgia) provides vulnerable populations access to high-quality telehealth services with a spirit of compassion and collaboration that meets a broad spectrum of medical, mental health, and social care needs.

Grant Halliburton Foundation (Texas) works to strengthen the network of mental health resources for children, teens, and young adults, promote better mental health, and prevent suicide.

Our House (Georgia) provides a pathway to stability and independence for families experiencing homelessness through access to health care, early childhood education, housing, and employment. Our interrelated programs address the root causes of homelessness and ensure every family that leaves Our House has the tools needed to achieve lasting self-sufficiency.

PENCIL Foundation (Tennessee) links community resources to Metro Nashville Public Schools to help young people achieve academic success and prepare for life. 

Phoenix Pass (Georgia) serves the needs of women and their children experiencing temporary homelessness by giving them an opportunity to reestablish self-sufficiency in a residential setting.

Second Helpings Atlanta (Georgia) reduces hunger and food waste in the Metro Atlanta area by rescuing healthy, nutritious, surplus food and distributing it to those in need.  

Spruill Center for the Arts (Georgia) fosters creativity and social connections through the arts by offering a diverse visual arts program to students of all ages and skill levels, providing a platform for artists to share their talents through exhibitions, sales, and instructional opportunities, and enriching community through programs designed to inspire the artist in everyone.

Supportive Housing Communities (North Carolina) provides affordable housing to alleviate homelessness and human suffering.

The Aprio Foundation exists to fund and support employee-driven initiatives and nonprofits with a vision to provide opportunities for every Aprio employee to positively impact their local community through values that include inclusion, diversity, and equity, and positive social change to ensure community impact. Since its inception in 2016, the Foundation has supported local and national nonprofit organizations through financial contributions, community impact grants, and in-kind donations. The community impact grants aim to propel each nonprofit’s annual programs, new strategic initiatives and overall mission.
