ATLANTA – Jan. 26, 2026 — Aprio, the 24th largest business advisory and accounting firm in the U.S., today announced that Lexy Kessler, Partner and Chair of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, has been named to CPA Practice Advisor’s 2025 Most Powerful Women in Accounting list for the fourth consecutive year. Now in its 14th year, the annual program recognizes women who are making a lasting impact on the accounting profession through leadership, innovation, mentorship, and service.
Lexy currently serves as the 112th Chair of the AICPA, becoming only the eighth woman to hold the role in the organization’s history. Through this platform, she focuses on listening and connecting across the profession’s ecosystem, engaging with professionals, students, and stakeholders across the U.S. and globally. Widely recognized for her ability to connect people, ideas, and institutions in ways that strengthen the profession, Lexy credits open dialogue, listening, and learning from others as central to her professional growth and leadership. In addition to her national and global leadership, she is deeply engaged in outreach beyond the firm, regularly meeting with college students to share perspectives on the range of career paths within accounting and presenting at women’s leadership events to advocate for belonging, mentorship, and inclusive workplaces, while actively engaging with professionals from diverse backgrounds to understand their views on the profession’s future.
Lexy’s leadership has been recognized through numerous honors throughout her career. She has been named to Accounting Today’s Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting and was recognized as one of Maryland’s Top 100 Women, an honor that led to her induction into the program’s Circle of Excellence.
