
Overview
Alan has more than 40 years of experience serving in the real estate and construction industry. He works with all types of real estate clients and focuses his efforts on advising clients with tax advantaged transactions, while helping make connections with others.
Experience
He uses his tax and business background to add value to the real estate industry. In his time with Aprio, he has advised clients on various 1031 exchanges, including reverse exchanges, partial exchanges, and tenancy in common transactions. He has advised clients in the structuring of LLC’s and creative exit planning strategies to minimize both federal and state taxes. Alan’s clients include private real estate companies including property management firms, merchant developers, REITS, overseas investors, and family owners and investors.
Education & Affiliations
Alan earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Auburn University. He is also a past member of the advisory board for the School of Accounting in Auburn University. In addition, Alan has served on the Georgia Society of CPA professional ethics committee and is past president of the Atlanta tax forum.
