Duke has over 30 years of experience as a CPA. Using his proficiency and the vast resources of Aprio as well as other PS+ members, he helps CPA and advisory firms to thrive and feel confident in a rapidly changing world and achieve their strategic goals.
Experience
He spent the first part of his career in audit* and focused on bringing innovative processes to the firm’s engagements. He has deep experience in strategic planning, partnership matters and business development. Duke connects with his clients and listens thoroughly to bring proactive solutions; he believes that collaboration is key to being able to connect the right resources in solving the problem.
Duke’s specialties include working with the executive leadership team in developing and implementing their strategic goals, bringing the power of a community to share and learn from each other, bringing collaboration and growth proficiency to help firms, and working as an accountability partner to the firm’s leadership. He thrives in the following:
- Navigating difficult conversations
- Helping clients understand where and why they are doing it
- Assisting in the growth and business development
- Identifying the need to bring in a specialist or introducing a new technology
He enjoys change and navigating change, gravitating toward the big, hard projects.
Education & Affiliations
Duke earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Accounting degree from the Indiana University – Kelley School of Business. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). Duke is a member of the Illinois Society of Certified Public Accountants and a former Board Chair for Chicago Voyagers.
