Overview
Eckart is a Managing Director in Aprio’s European Practice. He is a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience in U.S. inbound tax planning. Eckart advises German corporate and individual commercial investors in the United States – including significant DAX-30 clients, their senior management, and C-Suite decision makers. Having held significant roles at top advisory firms, Eckart has developed a deep understanding of cross-border tax planning.
Experience
He is a founding member and chairman of the New York Chapter of the Wirtschaftsrat (German Economic Council) and a member of its National Tax Committee (Bundessteuerkommission) in Berlin. Eckart serves as a member of the Steering Committee to the Wirtschaftsrunde (CEO Roundtable) in New York, and is also a member of the German CFO Roundtable in New York.
Education & Affiliations
Eckart received his German law degree from Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich, Germany. He is a German attorney at law (Rechtsanwalt), German Certified Tax Advisor (Steuerberater), and a CPA. Eckart is a recipient of the German Order of Merit (Bundesverdienstkreuz) for his longstanding commitment to transatlantic relations between Germany and the United States.
