Marcia Shippey‑Pryce is a Managing Director at Aprio, where she leads the firm’s property tax practice. With more than 25 years of experience in property tax, including work in most states across the United States, she is a seasoned professional with deep technical knowledge in business personal property compliance, real property and business personal property appeals, and representation before boards of appeal. Her work focuses on delivering and creating value for her clients while optimizing their overall property tax position.

Marcia helps clients effectively manage their property tax obligations through rendition preparation, assessment reviews, property tax appeals, valuation positions, representation at property tax board hearings, audit support, and ongoing property tax planning. Her background includes experience as both a consultant and an industry professional, giving her a well‑rounded perspective on the operational and regulatory realities her clients face.
Marcia has collaborated with clients across multiple industries, including manufacturing, healthcare, hospitality, technology, and commercial real estate, advising clients on complex property tax matters and helping them address assessment challenges and reporting requirements. She is particularly skilled in identifying savings opportunities, developing strategic approaches, and representing clients at property tax board hearings to reduce assessed property values and minimize unnecessary tax exposure. Marcia partners with clients to uncover savings opportunities, resolve assessment issues, and implement proactive property tax planning and compliance strategies. Her active involvement in the property tax community allows her to stay current on administrative and regulatory changes across jurisdictions and guide clients toward the most effective course of action when changes occur.
Education & Affiliations
Marcia earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Real Estate and a Master of Taxation from Florida Atlantic University. She went on to earn a Master of Business Administration in Accounting from Keller Graduate School of Management. Marcia holds the CMI certification in property tax with the Institute of Professionals in Taxation (IPT). She is a CPA, licensed in the State of GA.
Marcia is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and serves as Chair of the Atlanta IPT Luncheon Group as well as Chair of the IPT Local Luncheon Liaison. She is also a lead volunteer coordinator for Friends of Refugees Providing Education and Empowerment (F.R.E.E.).
