Overview

Tony Szczepaniak is the Global Leader of Aprio Alliance, where he guides the continued evolution of Aprio’s global alliance ecosystem and strengthens how member firms collaborate, share capabilities, and unlock opportunities for clients worldwide. Leveraging Aprio’s expanding global platform and the collective strengths of nearly 90 independent, growth-oriented accounting firms in the U.S. and Canada, he is advancing a unified, high-performing community focused on growth, transformation, and exceptional client service. The Alliance represents firms serving clients across industries and geographies, providing access to advisory resources, leadership development, peer collaboration, and data-driven insights designed to support firms at every stage of growth. 

Experience

With 30+ years of leadership across Fortune 500 corporate tax environments, public accounting, and global accounting associations, Tony brings deep experience in building and scaling professional services networks. Most recently, he served as Chief Executive Officer of LEA Global, where he implemented a comprehensive global strategy, strengthened governance, expanded the organization’s leadership footprint across six countries, and increased engagement and connectivity among member firms worldwide. Throughout his career, he has modernized member programming, enhanced value propositions, and driven significant cross-regional collaboration, including successfully building and growing a national alliance business to more than $100 million in value. His background includes senior leadership roles at major global enterprises, where he developed robust corporate tax expertise and a practical approach to transformation, member value, and client impact. 

Education & Affiliations

Tony holds a Master of Science in Taxation from DePaul University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Elmhurst College, and he has completed executive education programs at Harvard University, Stanford University, and the University of Chicago. He is actively engaged in the profession as a member of the AICPA and previously served on the Private Companies Practice Section (PCPS) Executive Committee and the AICPA Accounting Methods Technical Resource Panel.
