Aprio Advisory Group, LLC
Who I work with
I work with all types and sizes of taxpayers, including individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts and estates. My clients are typically facing issues in controversy with the IRS or state taxing authorities. I represent these clients in IRS and state tax audits and appeals.
My specialty
I focus on assisting clients with audits and appeals, penalty abatement disputes, entity classification issues, defense of tax positions, and debt collection and resolution matters including negotiating installment agreements, offers in compromise, and lien and levy disputes. I also focus on identity theft resolution and related administrative matters. As the “fixer” of client disputes with the IRS and state agencies, I excel at finding effective and often creative means to achieve favorable resolutions for my clients using experience in legal research and analysis, IRS and state practice and procedure, and written and oral advocacy.
Results I have delivered
I have successfully argued for the abatement of $10+ million in IRS and state penalties. I negotiated the reduction in an audit adjustment for an individual taxpayer.
Unique things about me
I am an ice hockey goaltender and have been coaching either youth, high school, or college ice hockey teams since the age of 19.
When I am not at work
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and children. I also enjoy cooking and baking along with playing, coaching, and watching ice hockey.
People say I am
I am the firm’s fixer and focus on getting things done and delivering results. I have great rapport with IRS agents and state agencies.
