Who I work with
I perform approximately 20+ employee benefit plan audits each year for clients with net assets between $1 million and $610 million, particularly those that have Service Contract Act (SCA) contributions. I primarily audit 401(k) plans, employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs), and health and welfare plans.
My specialty
In addition to providing audit and financial reporting services, I assist plan sponsors with ERISA and US Department of Labor (DOL) compliance. I also help sponsors get ahead of non-compliance issues, calculate any corrections to rectify compliance issues, and improve procedures and controls. I perform employee benefit plan audits year-round as my only focus.
Results I have delivered
Many plan sponsors are unaware they have compliance issues with their plan documents or with DOL regulations, due to no fault of their own. The majority of audits I encounter result in at least one correction that benefits plan participants; many of these corrections arise from plan document provisions that slipped under the radar or a payroll system that was set up improperly. My goal is to help my clients remediate these issues and prevent them with the right processes and controls in place.
Unique things about me
My husband and I are both CPAs, and we met working at the same firm. I am also a diehard New York Mets fan while my husband is a big Washington Nationals fan, which makes for a very interesting baseball season in our house every year.
When I am not at work
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, daughter and rescue dog ─ especially at the beach in the Outer Banks. I also love attending baseball games, trying new and local wineries, and watching the latest reality shows and television dramas.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Delaware. I am a certified public accountant (CPA) licensed in Maryland and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
