Kayla Kania, CPA
Lead Assurance Partner in Government Contracting | I assist government contractors with business lifecycle planning.
Who I work with
I work with government contractors of all shapes and sizes throughout the United States. My smallest client is around $2 million, and my largest client is in the $150 million range.
My specialty
My entire career has been spent working with government contractors in providing assurance services for the entities themselves as well as their benefit plans. Throughout my experiences, I have developed a vast knowledgebase around business life cycle planning, employee benefit plan structuring, and the nuances of working with the government. Some of my favorite topics to discuss are indirect rate structuring, small business strategy and incentive compensation. While auditing can be considered an adversarial relationship at times, I pride myself on being my clients’ teammate and biggest fan.
Unique things about me
I have been on SportsCenter cheering on my alma mater (West Virginia University) during one of our biggest upsets in program history. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to celebrate after the game because I sprained my ankle jumping over the wall to rush the field.
When I am not at work
I love to golf — whether it’s for work with clients, fun with friends or teaching my nephew the game, I am in my happy place outside on the course.
