Overview

Tommy is the leader of Aprio’s Restaurant, Franchise, and Hospitality group, where he provides industry-specific business, strategic planning, and tax advice to support profitable growth. He works closely with the executives and owners of middle-market restaurant, franchise, and hospitality businesses across the U.S.

Experience

Tommy’s experience in the restaurant, franchise, and hospitality sector goes back decades. Prior to becoming a certified public accountant (CPA), Tommy worked in the restaurant business and held multiple operations roles, from chief dishwasher to general manager to partner. He started his accounting career representing national real estate developers in the retail sector until the financial collapse of 2008. In 2012, he was asked to bring together Aprio’s clients in the restaurant, retail, franchise, and hospitality sectors, leading his team to help thousands of clients deliver better experiences to their customers.

Education & Affiliations

Tommy is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the J.M. Tull School of Accounting. He is the former president of the Atlanta chapter of the Georgia Society of CPAs, a member of the Georgia Restaurant Association and the Colorado Restaurant Association, and a founding member of the Restaurateur Summit. Tommy is also actively involved in the Aprio Foundation and a volunteer for the Children of Conservation.
