Doug joined Aprio as a Merger and Acquisitions (M&A) Specialist in 2016. Before coming to Aprio, Doug established Big Gear Business Advisors Inc., a management consulting firm that has provided management expertise to countless privately-owned companies since 1999.

Given his decades-long experience leading teams across a diverse range of industries and organizational levels, Doug is adept at operating in both the boardroom and the factory floor. His extensive management background includes roles in M&A, business development, strategic planning, product management, quality processes, and leadership development.

Under his guidance, clients have achieved long-term sustainability, crafted exit strategies and succession plans, designed profit improvement plans, executed profit turnarounds, restructured debt, analyzed strategic options, developed business plans, secured growth financing, implemented process improvements, and established effective management accountability processes.
