Michael Campbell is a Director in Aprio’s International Tax Services practice, where he advises clients on complex U.S. international tax matters including cross-border structuring, Subpart F income, global intangible low-taxed income (GILTI), withholding taxes, foreign tax credits, financial reporting, and tax compliance. He works with clients at every stage of growth—from early-stage startups to large multinational enterprises in the Fortune 500—to navigate the intersection of U.S. tax law and global operations.

Michael brings a holistic and solutions-oriented approach to his client’s global challenges, serving a diverse range of industries including financial services, energy, private equity, manufacturing, distributors, technology, professional services, crypto, and wholesale distribution. His ability to synthesize technical tax rules into practical advice has earned him a reputation as a trusted advisor to both U.S. and foreign-owned businesses expanding across borders.

In addition to his core international tax experience, Michael has developed specialized capabilities in tax technology, process mapping, implementation, and automation. He leads initiatives to integrate technology into the tax function, leveraging data automation and compliance platforms to improve accuracy, efficiency, and risk management.

Education & Affiliations

Michael holds a Bachelor of Science from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master of Taxation from Georgia State University. He is a licensed CPA in the state of Georgia and a ONESOURCE Certified Implementer (OIT, OTP, International). He also holds an Alteryx Advanced Certification.

Michael is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Georgia Society of CPAs, and the Illinois CPA Society.
