Overview

Robert is an accomplished International Tax Partner with over 40 years of experience helping domestic and international companies of all sizes. His specialties include transfer pricing and cross-border tax structuring, working closely with international CFOs, finance VPs, and tax directors to ensure compliance with IRS regulations while maximizing profitability.

Experience

Throughout his career, Robert has advised publicly and privately held corporations on a wide range of international tax matters, including foreign tax credit utilization, structuring of foreign and domestic operations, international mergers and acquisitions, and export tax incentives. He has successfully led more than 80 transfer pricing projects, including planning and documentation studies, advance pricing agreements, cost allocation analyses, and effective tax rate management initiatives.

In his current practice within Aprio, Robert assists clients in claiming export tax incentives (e.g., FDII, IC-DISC) and in establishing offshore operations to optimize tax outcomes. His previous roles include serving as an international tax partner at Deloitte & Touche in both Atlanta and New York City, where he was a member of the national transfer pricing team.

Robert is a sought-after speaker on international tax topics, having presented at events hosted by the Council for International Tax Education, SCACPA, and the U.S. Department of Commerce. He has also guest lectured at the University of Georgia and Clemson University.

Education & Affiliations

Robert earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music and a Master of Accounting in Taxation from the University of Georgia. He is a member of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and the International Fiscal Association (IFA).
