Dave Shaw works with owners of privately held businesses generating $2 to $20 million in annual revenue, helping them accelerate growth and prepare for a successful exit. He specializes in maximizing business value, uncovering hidden strengths that set companies apart, and connecting sellers with the right buyers. Over the course of his decades-long career, Dave has successfully sold businesses and raised capital in transactions ranging from $300,000 to $500 million.

Experience

Dave is an M&A specialist with over 40 years of experience building up and selling businesses, including five of his own. Prior to his work in M&A, Dave spent years as a successful entrepreneur who owned businesses in IT, hospitality, manufacturing, franchising, professional services, and a variety of other industries. Buying and selling his own businesses sparked his interest in M&A, which quickly grew and evolved into being immersed in the world of mergers and acquisitions for a VC firm and partnership groups.

After graduating from university, Dave started in a family-owned business in the office equipment and supplies industry. He was later recruited by a venture capital firm to oversee a roll-up M&A and IPO strategy for a web services company. Dave became a partner and president of a restaurant chain, owned an executive coaching business, and even partnered with his wife to buy and develop a company that produced equipment to aid cognitive function and help children with autism.

Dave earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Colorado State University.
