Who I work with
I work closely with attorneys and their clients on matters involving litigation, both domestic and commercial, and on transfers of business interests. In addition, I serve as a personal financial advisor to several families and individuals, helping them structure comprehensive investment, financial and estate planning strategies.
My specialty
My specialties include business valuation, forensic accounting, mediation and arbitration, personal financial planning and investment strategy development. I have experience and training in accounting, tax, law and insurance — a combination that allows me to see and understand issues from both an accounting and a legal perspective. My ability to explain complex business concepts in simple terms has made my work as a court-appointed arbitrator, mediator and expert litigation witness more effective. I am fortunate to work with a team of highly trained and experienced forensic accountants and business valuation experts who are part of the Aprio team.
Results I have delivered
I provided direct testimony in a securities fraud case that saved a client over $2.5 million. And I helped a state government avoid multi-million-dollar damages claims in multiple lawsuits by demonstrating the weaknesses in the opposing parties’ cases and evidence. And on a more personal level, I helped a client structure and implement a financial and estate planning strategy that saved beneficiaries over $15 million.
Unique things about me
I played soccer in college and was one of the first three people to graduate with an Accounting degree from Vanderbilt University in 1975.
When I am not at work
I am addicted to golf and love to play a few holes in my spare time; I have been playing for over 25 years! I am also active in my synagogue and other community organizations.
People ay I am
I am someone who can look at all facets of a problem and develop a creative solution.
A great oral and written communicator.
