Who I work with
As the head of the west coast Tax Team for Aprio, I manage hiring and provide support to a team of 30 tax professionals. I provide leadership and aid to medium to large companies with foreign ownership or foreign subsidiaries looking to enter the US or expand operations internationally. I help my clients understand what actions to take, resolve compliance issues and determine the most advantageous tax structure for their business.
My specialty
I spend each day helping high-net-worth clients and companies with multiple tax jurisdictions navigate everything in their financial life so they can make effective decisions. I’m passionate about helping clients pursue what is most important to them through personal and corporate tax, gift and estate planning. I love it when I am able to help clients simplify and resolve complex, technical tax concerns.
Results I have delivered
A client with a $17 million gain was looking for wealth planning and tax saving solutions. I worked with the Wealth team to identify a product that created $3 million in upfront deductions along with a return and investment strategy that fit the client’s needs. Over the years, we have expedited millions of dollars in depreciation expense.
Using IRC Section 962 and electing to treat an individual as a corporation for the purposes of Subpart F and the Mandatory Repatriation income, we saved one client over $1 million in taxes.
Unique things about me
I’m a bit of a dare devil! I have sky dived, jumped from canyons into lakes in Arizona, ridden four wheelers and driven a snow mobile up the sides of 10-foot snow banks.
When I am not at work
You can find me hiking, doing yoga, riding my Peloton, managing my son’s soccer team or visiting a soccer stadium for a game or tour. We’re passionate about soccer!

In addition to being a CPA, I am a member of the AICPA and the California State Board of Accountancy. I hold a B.S. in Accounting from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh and an M.S. in Taxation from Golden Gate University.
