Who I work with
I work with CFOs and tax directors of companies of all sizes, from startups to multinational publicly traded companies. I focus on businesses in the technology space and financial services industries. I also advise U.S. companies looking to expand overseas and non-U.S. enterprises looking to come to the U.S.
My specialty
I advise companies on international tax matters related to controlled foreign corporations, foreign disregarded entities and other foreign investments such as passive foreign investment companies (PFICs). I help my clients navigate complex withholding tax matters, U.S. tax treaty analyses and FATCA/CRS and guide the collection and organization of withholding certificates. I also help design tax structures that reduce worldwide effective tax rates. One of my specialties is explaining highly technical areas of international tax in a way that non-tax professionals can understand.
Results I have delivered
As a frequent contributor on due diligence, I often identify potential international tax exposures related to proposed acquisitions. In one instance, my team’s pre-transaction planning saved our client over $2 million.
Unique things about me
After high school and before college, I spent a year-and-a-half studying abroad in Jerusalem. As a result, I developed a very close connection with the land and have visited many times since.
When I am not at work
Family is very important to me. I am one of 16 grandchildren on my mother’s side. We recently had a weekend family reunion and more than 75 family members gathered together from all over the world.
