
Overview
Josh has more than 15 years of experience serving businesses in the technology space and the financial services industry. He works closely with CFOs and tax directors of companies of all sizes, including startups, multinational publicly traded companies seeking to expand overseas, and non-U.S. enterprises looking to establish operations in the States.
Experience
Josh advises companies on international tax matters related to controlled foreign corporations, foreign disregarded entities, and other foreign investments, such as passive foreign investment companies (PFICs). He helps clients navigate complex tax withholding matters, U.S. tax treaty analyses and FATCA/CRS, and assists with the collection and organization of withholding certificates. His experience also includes creating tax structures that reduce worldwide effective tax rates.
As a frequent contributor on due diligence, Josh works collaboratively with Aprio team members to identify potential international tax exposures related to proposed acquisitions. In one instance, his pre-transaction planning saved a client over $2 million.
Education & Affiliations
Josh earned a Juris Doctor (JD) from Fordham University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from City University of New York–Queens College. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association and a former executive board member of Congregation Beth Abraham.
